UK Government: Consultation on Zero emission vehicle mandate review
The UK Government is reviewing the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Mandate to check if it is helping more people and businesses move to electric vehicles while supporting the car industry and cutting emissions.
The consultation asks for views on current sales targets, how the rules work for manufacturers, and possible changes before a wider review in 2027. It also looks at options for ending the sale of new petrol and diesel-only cars by 2030.
Closing date: 23 October 2026
