Association of Scottish Hardwood Sawmillers (ASHS)

ASHS is a cooperative of small and medium sized suppliers of hardwood and premium softwood products. They also represent associate members with links to the Scottish timber industry.

Scottish Furniture Makers Association (SFMA)

SFMA is a trade group that represents furniture makers and holds an annual exhibition. It is supported by Scottish Enterprise, Forestry Commission Scotland and Craft Scotland.

Scottish Timber Trade Association (STTA)

STTA is an industry group that represents those who supply timber and wood products in Scotland, including importers, sawmillers, timber merchants, timber agents, builders merchants and others.

Scottish Working Woods (SWW)

SWW is a quality assurance scheme that has been set up to represent businesses producing goods with a significant component of materials derived from Scottish woodlands.

British Woodworking Federation (BWF)

BWF is a business support organisation that represents the UK wood industry.

Confederation of Forest Industries (ConFor)

ConFor is a members' organisation that represents people and businesses who own forests and who work in forestry or with wood and forest products.

Construction Products Association

Construction Products Association is a trade group that represents the UK's manufacturers and distributors of construction products and materials.

Contract Flooring Association (CFA)

CFA is a trade group that works on behalf of contractors engaged in the installation of all floor finishes, manufacturers and distributors of flooring materials, adhesives and accessories, as well as flooring consultants.

Cork Industry Federation

Cork Industry Federation is an association of companies involved in the importation, manufacture and distribution of cork products in the UK and for export throughout the world.

Door and Hardware Federation (DHF)

DHF is a trade group that represents manufacturers and installers of doors and powered gates, as well as manufacturers of locks, building hardware and architectural ironmongery.

Institute of Carpenters (IOC)

IOC is an industry group that works on behalf of carpenters, joiners, wheelwrights, wood carvers and turners and boat builders.

Structural Timber Association (STA)

STA is a trade group that represents the UK's structural timber industry. As well as providing guidance and education, STA also runs an accreditation scheme.

Timber Decking and Cladding Association (TDCA)

TDCA is a technical advisory body that provides guidance on matters relating to decking and cladding.

Timber Packaging and Pallet Confederation (Timcon)

Timcon is a trade group that represents timber packaging and pallet manufacturers.

Timber Research and Development Association (TRADA)

TRADA is a centre for excellence focused on the specification and use of timber and wood products. TRADA represents businesses from across the wood supply chain.

Timber Trade Federation (TTF)

TTF is an industry group that represents those involved in any timber-related activity, including softwoods, hardwoods and panel products.

Trussed Rafter Association (TRA)

TRA exists as a source of specialist information about trussed rafters for specifiers, contractors and end users.

UK Forest Products Association (UKFPA)

UKFPA is a trade group that represents the technical and commercial interests of the domestic timber industry.

Woodworking Machinery Suppliers Association (WMSA)

WMSA is a UK trade body that represents the woodworking machinery suppliers industry.

Wood Panel Industries Federation (WPIF)

WPIF is a trade group that works on behalf of wood chipboard, oriented strand board and medium density fibreboard manufacturers.

Wood Protection Association (WPA)

WPA is a technical and advisory organisation dedicated to improving the performance and value of wood as a sustainable construction material.

  • A day with Hydrology, SEPA's hydrometry unit is responsible for around 400 gauging stations and 350 rainfall monitoring sites. River gauging stations are important as they allow river levels to be monitored so flood events can be predicted and flood warnings sent out.
