Our audience - who you are

NetRegs is primarily aimed at businesses in Northern Ireland or Scotland, with a focus on Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), although our content is also of interest to larger businesses and we have a section for households.

Over 2025 the website had, on average:

  • 15,127 users per month
  • 19,054 sessions per month
  • 27,787 page views per month

A survey of NetRegs e-newsletter subscribers was carried out in June 2025. The survey was sent to 6,029 e-newsletter subscribers and 142 responses were received. This small sample may be used to infer characteristics of the wider set of e-newsletter subscribers and of the totality of NetRegs users. Below are some insights from the group that responded to the survey.

1. Size of respondent businesses and organisations

  • 19% of businesses with fewer than 10 employees (microbusinesses)
  • 28% of businesses with 10 to 99 employees
  • 21% of businesses with 100 to 499 employees
  • 32% of businesses with 500 or more employees

2. Respondent businesses and organisations with dedicated compliance staff

NetRegs aims to be a first port of call to help businesses know what their legal obligations are, which is especially useful for those businesses without dedicated compliance staff - whose responsibilities include identifying, interpreting regulations, to ensure the business’s compliance with legal obligations. 

  • 15% of businesses with no dedicated compliance member of staff
  • 35% of businesses with a dedicated member of staff that deals with compliance
  • 33% of businesses with a dedicated team that deals with compliance
  • 16% of businesses were consultancies that advise other businesses or organisations 

3. About the respondent businesses and organisations with fewer than 10 employees (microbusinesses) 

  • 22% of microbusinesses with no post dedicated to the role of compliance
  • 56% of microbusinesses were consultancies
